A Legacy in Port Arthur
Located at 206 Park Avenue in the heart of Thunder Bay’s Waterfront district, The Chanterelle is an industrial-chic venue steeped in local history. Built in 1885, the building originally served as a bustling wholesale and retail dry goods space, and at the time of its construction, it proudly stood as the tallest building in Port Arthur.
Today, following a meticulous restoration, it has been transformed into an elegant mixed-use event venue boasting more than 5,000 square feet of combined indoor space. Our renovations proudly highlight the building’s industrial past by preserving original exposed brick walls and maximizing natural light, juxtaposing raw elements with luxurious, modern details.

The Lounge
Located on the main floor, The Lounge is a warm, sophisticated space anchored by a custom-designed tufted leather bar. Designed with superior acoustical engineering, it provides a flawless environment for intimate gatherings, private dinners, and cocktail receptions before moving to the main event.

The Ballroom
Ascend via our modern elevator to The Ballroom, our grand second-floor event space. Featuring soaring ceilings, original hardwood floors, and towering architectural windows overlooking Park Avenue, this room is defined by its elegant crystal chandeliers set against historic exposed brick.

Utilizing the highest quality seasonal and local ingredients, all menu items—from custom canapés to elegant set dinners—are expertly prepared on-site in our custom-built kitchen. Under the guidance of our venue manager, our dedicated staff takes on the stress of coordination so that you and your guests can simply enjoy the celebration.
